The Nidd sources high up on Great Whernside.  Like a lot of sources there is no definitive start, just a few random trickles here and there which eventually join together.  This is about a mile down from the source where the river starts to gather momentum and character....  a series of small waterfalls with the Nidderdale hills in the background.
