Staithes is very close to my heart for several reasons.... a family connection with dame Laura Knight, the feeling of belonging whenever I visit, its wealth of history as a fishing village, smugglers cove, artist's colony..... and its pure visual magic, no wonder artists where drawn to the place and still are.  Staithes hosts a festival of arts and cultural heritage mid September yearly.
